my confession...

that's it. I'm the WORST blogger in the whole entire world! WORST! I haven't blogged for 4 weeks.

My many apologies go out to those who follow our blog. Please don't give up on us! Keep on reading! We have so many amazing things coming up for you!

So why have I put off blogging for so long, you may ask? Well, I'll tell you my dear friends...

Once upon a time, a perfectionist named Melissa was born. And one day, the beforementioned Melissa, realized that her next blog post was her 100th post!!! That's right! 100! Thus, she knew it had to be big. It had to be spectacular. It had to be off the chains! So what did I do?!

I just didn't do it! I couldn't think of anything that deemed itself worthy for my 100th blog post, so I just kept putting it off, week after week. And now the guilt has finally caught up to me and I know I just have to DO IT! Nothing will ever reach my perfectionist expectations for such a monumental post.

So alas, here we go!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!! We FINALLY got all of our Christmas cards out, and just in time too! We're moving next week! Not too far though, just about 10 minutes away. Why you may ask? Because we bought a HOUSE! :) Yes, yes we're all grown up now. The house is just perfect for us right now, PLUS we're going to be building a studio in it. So get ready world! Folks Photography is taking over Central Cali! :)

So I guess that goes without saying, we're going to be pretty MIA over these next few weeks. On top of our moving, we have multiple weddings to shoot (some requring plane trips :) AND we're finding out the sex of little baby Folks. So we're gonna be pretty jam packed.

But you guys know how much I love you, so no worries. Now that I have that whole "100th post" pressure off my back, I'll be able to post some off-the-heezy wedding photos :)

its been a while

So I have to apologize to all the readers out there--I haven't posted anything for such a long time! We've been really busy with photo shoots lately and just haven't squeezed in the time to blog about them yet. But just so you know, we have some awesome posts coming up soon, so please don't lose faith in us! Keep checking back!!

Also, we've added 500 new photoshop actions to our business--they look great! We'll be posting some about that soon as well.

At Last!!

So my blog is back up and running. I decided to scrap it all and start over...yes, for some reason having a broken blog with a broken header just wouldn't cut it and was worth it to start from scratch. Well, kind of. The good news? I was able to simply copy and paste my past posts again and my header finally works! Even though I haven't officially made one yet...sorry for the kind of ugly one right now. I'll get right on that! :)

The bad news? I lost all of my comments and dates. I really appreciate all of the comments you guys left on my last posts, so if you feel so inclined, leave them again! :) I love reading them!! Well, I've got photos to edit!

Oh, and here's a little preview of Annie and Travis' engagement session from this weekend. I'm so excited to blog about this one! I'll post a few more pics a little bit later on this week :)

Blog Blues

So I recently found that there is something terribly wrong with my blog! Ever since I got it all set up, I haven't been able to change my header for the life of me! I would go to upload an image and then it would say it was uploaded but it would never show up. I tried everything it seemed like. Then the beloved Ashley, of Ashley's layouts, tried to help me out. And she's a blog WHIZ! She finally realized that my blog is broken and in order to change the header, you have to mess a lot with the HTML and cut some corners. So basically, since I don't know HTML, only Ashley the great can change my header. It's kind of a bummer but I'm so grateful that she is so great at what she does!!

Anyway, I was thinking about changing my blog though so that she wouldn't have to bother with it every time I wanted to change something. Does anyone know...if I delete my blog account, can I get the domain name back?

It will take a lot of time to get my blog back up and running if this eventually happens, so hang in there everyone! Thanks so much for following my blog! Hopefully we can work all this out. Please let me know if you have any suggestions though. I would hate to start all over if I didn't have to!

Still Not The Best Blogger

Something I can't quite figure out is how to get a picture up on the top of my blog for the banner. And for some reason my personal picture of me and my husband disappeared. Like I said, I'm really really slow at this. Hopefully I can fix it all soon tho. I'm going to test posting a picture today tho. Let's just pray this works.

I am so behind in my blogging though! I've done 3 shoots since my last post and absolutely need to tell you how great they were!!

Wish me luck....I promise I grew up with technology. What is wrong with me!??!

A Blogger Is Born!

I feel like a complete dork. I've had this blog for so long now, but I've done absolutely nothing with it. Maybe dork isn't the right word. Maybe "lazy" or "slacker" would be more fitting. Nonetheless, I am officially writing my first blog post! Hooray!

For those who don't know me (and I'm just going to assume that's a majority of you so that I can talk about myself as much as I want...just kidding...) my name is Melissa.

I just recently started a new photography business over the summer and I'm learning so much! It's incredibly exciting. And a little overwhelming. I don't know if you all have noticed but there are some amazing photographers in the Utah Valley and beyond! I'm so blessed to be able to learn from some of the best tho, including the great Amanda Abel who photographed my wedding! She's let me follow her around to a few shoots and it was seriously awesome. Thanks Amanda!

So I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to write about as a blogger.

So how about some exciting news? I finally got my website up and running. You should check it out (if you haven't already).

I think one of my favorite parts is the calendar where you can just click a day to reserve your date. I don't know why that's my fave. Again, the dorkiness shows.

Once I start getting the hang of this I'm hoping to make my blog look as fancy as all of the other photographers. Anybody have ne tips? Any will be MUCH appreciated!

Well, I think I'm about to officially close my first blog post. Let's see if this is a success. Yay for new experiences!
