Happy Birthday Matthew!

I was up early this morning to do my homework but I can't find my papers, so I figured the next best thing to do would be to blog, of course...

This past Saturday was Matthew's 23rd birthday! For his birthday we went to Salt Lake City and ate lunch at a Chinese/Thai/Filipino restaurant that we LOVE! It's called The Five Star Restaurant. Matthew served his mission in the Philippines so it brings back some good memories...but the food is amazing as well! I love lumpia, pork adobo and bistek! Matt got Filipino Chop Suey!

After lunch, we headed to the Ogden area (Morgan to be exact) to spend the weekend with my grandparents. We originally went to retrieve our Christmas stuff from their attic, but we discovered they were having a Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, so we just HAD to stay :)

Matthew chose a cherry pie with a crumbled crust as his birthday "cake" and goo goo cluster ice cream. Talk about a fattening weekend...but oh so good! Oh, and for those of you who are wondering why I'm such a slacker and didn't put candles in his pie...I TRIED! I let the pie cool off for SO long but no matter how cool it was, the adorable candles I picked out continued to melt in the extremely hot filling :( So after losing a lot of wax in the pie, we decided to stop trying. Sad, I know. There's a reason people use cake or ice cream though :)

We felt so blessed to spend this eventful weekend with our family that we love so much! Thanks so much grandma and grandpa! We already miss arguing about football! Go Cougs!

And again, Happy Birthday Matthew!

Here are some pics from the special day...

Matt spent the entire day reading--everything. He loves to read, especially newspapers :)

His cherry pie! Yum!

Molly, being tempted.

Apparently putting crumbles on top makes the pie explode :) But it was still very yummy!

Molly has been taught very well to look at the camera

Lucy, on the other hand, is still clueless :)
